You are fearfully and wonderfully made. Did you know that? Do you ever think to yourself that you just don't fit in? Do you always feel like you are on the outside looking in? Are you constantly questioning yourself: "Is this all there is? Why am I here, and for what reason? My life seems to just be drifting along without any apparent plan. God, do You really care? Do You really know what I am going through? God, why did You create me?"
I firmly believe that most of us experience uncertainty at some point. We are often overwhelmed by stress in our fast-paced society. It's critical that we keep in mind that the devil always wants to get us into a place of despair and hopelessness. Isolated, tired and confused, we are easy prey. Know that if you are a born-again Christian, the turbulence you experience is not your final truth. You may be experiencing great financial trouble, but our God takes pleasure in the prosperity of His people. Sickness may be bothering your body, but the Word of God says that by His stripes you are healed!
Psalm 5:12 says, “For you bless the righteous, O Lord; you cover him with favor as with a shield." You may not be experiencing it at this very moment, but you can if you will focus on the total truth. And what's the total truth? It's what and who God says you are. Begin to expect favor instead of lack and trouble. Remember this: If things can go wrong, they can just as easily go right! Take a look at what the Word has to say about your situation.
"I will praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; marvelous are your works, and that my soul knows very well," is the declaration of Psalm 139:14. In the original Hebrew text, the word 'fearfully' means with great reverence, heart-felt interest and respect. The word 'wonderfully' means excellently, greatly and marvelously. BOOM! No wonder the psalmist bursts out with praise in this verse. He realized the great love and concern that went into his unique and very individual creation. According to this Scripture, you truly are a masterpiece! The next time you have the temptation to ask the Lord if He cares what happens to you, remember this verse. The truth is that He cares and loves you with an acute intensity that cannot ever be measured.
Another verse that goes along with this is Isaiah 44:24: "Thus says the Lord, your Redeemer, and He who formed you from the womb..." The word 'formed' in the Hebrew means to fashion or to mold into a form, especially as a potter.
Does the Lord care for us? Is there any doubt? Ephesians 2:10 says “For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God has prepared beforehand that we should walk in them." The word 'workmanship comes from the Greek word 'poiema'. Our English words poem and poetry stem from this word. Just think of it – we are God's poem. That's right, poetry in motion! You are a genuine and unique work of art produced by the Master Himself! Just as a poem has rhyme, rhythm, beauty and meaning, so our lives are also meant to reflect the beauty of God's love. This is to be uniquely expressed through our individual characteristics which have been carefully selected for us. We, being set apart for Him, may fulfill His purposes on the Earth. The beauty of His purpose for my life makes me want to dance right now!
Jeremiah 29:11 reveals a special truth regarding this very matter; "For I know the thoughts (purposes) that I think (plan) toward (for) you. Thoughts (purposes) of peace and not of evil, to give you a (quality) future and a hope." The plans that God has for us were well thought out, meditated upon, and devised specifically for us so that we would proliferate in them.
I hear you saying, "This all sounds so wonderful, but can all of this really happen to me?" YES!! According to 2 Corinthians 9:8, "...God is able to make all (not just some) grace abound toward you; that you always, having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work." He's not just able, it is His will. Starting to get the point and feel better?
Listen - each of us has been given a unique and individual purpose. Our purpose cannot fail if we cast off fear. Stop listening to the lies of failure, doom and gloom and all the negativity the devil uses against you, regardless of your past and your shortcomings. Why? Because it is God ordained, that's why. Romans 11:29 tells us: "For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable." He's given this to you and He will never take it back and this is His total truth toward you!
The plans and purposes of God are set in motion for a reason: to give us a future and a hope, so that we can be a blessing while we're here on the Earth. The devil is a liar and a defeated foe! Shake off that feeling of dread and despair. Get back into fellowship with the Master and put on the garment of praise, because you are a person of divine destiny! You are a person of purpose and worth, uniquely fashioned, a true work of art - a Masterpiece. You are specifically equipped and set apart.
Overcomer, wake up, take a good look in the mirror, and tell yourself, “No doubt about it — I’m fearfully and wonderfully made!” If you ever consider yourself unremarkable or even ordinary, you’re not seeing yourself as a result of God’s divine creation. When we discover the truth that we are God’s unique design, it is overwhelming!
Be Optimistic; Be Open Minded; Be an Overcomer!!
